The 300 Members Draw took place on Friday the 2nd November, 2007 in Moloneys Bar.   Congratulations to Connie Russell (nee Wheeler) who took the top prize of €7,000, 2nd prize €2,000 to Richard Leonard, 3rd prize €500 to Shane and Elaine Davern; and the following won €100 - Mary Winters, Jed O'Shea, Emma O'Neill, Pat Ryan/John Murphy, Angela McNamara/Eamon Dineen, Triona & Paul Ryan, John Irwin/Charlie McCarthy, Anthony Kirby, Michael Whelan, Mary Rice/Pat Ryan/Paddy Ryan, and Bernie Scully.
 The Club would like to thank everybody who participated in the draw.

The Senior Club 300 Member Draw tickets are on sale at present.   Please give your support by buying one of these tickets.    The draw will take place at Moloney’s Bar on Friday November 2nd, 2007.

Indoor Hurling skills in the Community Centre will recommence after the Halloween break.

A sponsored walk has been organised to take place on Sunday 11th November to raise funds for the drainage and sanding of the sportsfield which will take place next spring. These funds are much needed.

The U.10 Hurlers are playing in the U.10 All County Fixture on Saturday 13th October, 2007.   Matches to be played in Crecora.   They will play three matches, meeting Crecora, Ballinacurra Gaels and South Liberties.   Best of Luck to all.
The Senior Club 300 Members Draw will take place at Moloneys Bar Knockainey on Friday 2nd Novebmer.    Tickets €100 and they are available from any Committee Member.   Please support as these funds are essential to the Senior Club.

The Senior Club will hold a 300 Members Draw on Friday 2nd November, 2007 in
Moloneys Bar, first prize €7,000.    Tickets available from Committee Members.   Your support for the draw will be greatly appreciated.
The U.10 Hurling competition did not go ahaed last Saturday as advised in last weeks issue and a date for the new fixture is not available as yet.  They played in a mini tournament in Kilfinane last Saturday and beatBlackrock.   Well done to the U.10s.

Our Senior Hurling team bowed out of the Senior County Hurling Championship
last Sunday.   They were beaten by a very strong Ahane team.   We wish to
thank the Manager, Selectors, Medical team and the lads on the Senior
Hurling panel for the great work and effort this year.
Our U.10 Hurlers played in the all County U.10 League and won their three
matches against Na Piarsiagh B, Ballybrown B and Dromin Athlacca. They
play the next round on Saturday the 29th September in Crecora at 11.00 a.m.,
leaving Knockainey field at 10.00 a.m.   They will play Crecora, Ballinacurra Gaels and South Liberties.   Best of luck to all involved.

Well done to our U.16 Hurlers who were out last Saturday in Effin playing
Dromin-Athlacca in the County U.16 Final and winning with a scoreline of
5-17 to 1-10.    Congratulations to all involved.
Our Senior Hurlers had a great win over Doon last Sunday in the Senior County Hurling Champsionship with Knockainey scoring 1-18 to Doons 1-10.   Patrick Kirby, Dermot Walsh, Pierce Davern, Cathal Madden and Mark Cleary scoring.    They are out again on Saturday 22nd September against Ahane in the Gaelic Grounds at 5.30 p.m.    Please come and support as you did last Sunday.   Best of luck to all.

The U.16 Hurlers met Kilteely in the County Semi Final last Saturday in Knocklong and won with a score of 1-12 to 9 points.    The County U.16 Hurling Final will take place on Saturday the 15th September in Effin Knockainey v Dromin Athlacca, at 1.00 p.m.    Best of luck to them and your support would be appreciated.
The U.16 County Football Semi Final took place last Tuesday night with Knockainey playing Kilteely.   This time Kilteely got the upper hand with winning by 4 points.
The U.12 Footballers played Cappamore in the County Semi Final in Cappamore
last Monday night and were beaten with a score of 1-6 to 1-3.
The Second Round of the All County Senior Championship gets under way this
weekend with Knockainey playing Doon in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday 16th
September at 1.00 p.m.    Hopefully the parish will all be out in support.

Our Minor Hurlers did the club proud last Friday night on winning the County Hurling Final for the second year in a row.   Knockainey and Rathkeale were level at the final whisltle so the game went to extra time with Knockainey winning by 2 points.  Well done to  Fichara Leahy who captained the team, with Mally Hayes in goal, Tom Winter, Sean McGrath, Padraig Barron, Brian Cleary, Kevin Dolley, Cathal Madden, Liam O'Shea, Tom Winter, Brendan Mulcahy, Michael Hickey, Sean Leo, Conor Cleary, Kevin Moloney John Ryan and Sean Cleary.   Well done to Pat Ryan and his team of selectors on their hard.
The U.12 County Football Final will be played in Rathkeale on Saturday with
Knockainey/Cappamore v Kilteely.

The Juvenile Club would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Juvenile Clubs Church Gate Collection.
Congratulations to the Minor Hurlers who beat Garryspillane in the South Hurling Final by a point.   They played the County Semi Final against St. Bridgets on Monday night and were victorous again on this occasion.   They are now through to the Minor County Final which is fixed for Friday night but no venue available at present, so please contact an Officer of the Club for details.
The U.21 Hurlers are out against Cois na Gaels on Tuesday 4th September in
Hospital at 6.45 p.m.
Best of Luck to the Limerick Senior Hurlers on Sunday in the All Ireland
Final.

The Senior South Hurling Final was played last Sunday night in Bruff with
Knockainey beating Kilmallock by a point.
Well done to the Minor team on beating Hospital in the South Football Semi Final in Glenroe last Wednesday, winning by 4 points in extra time. The Minor Hurlers won against Hospital  on Friday night  in the South Hurling Semi Final and are playing Garryspillane in the Final.   Best of luck in the final.
The U.12 Ground Hurlers reached the final of the Ballylanders Ground Hurling
Tournament, beating Glenroe by a point in the Semi Final.   They were then
beaten by a goal by Garryspillane in the Final.
Best of luck to Brian Cleary and Liam O'Shea who will tog out for the U.16
Limerick Team on Saturday in Tipperary and also best of luck to Jay Bryne
who will tog out for the U.14 Limerick Team in the Tony Forrestal Cup in
Waterford.

The U.14 Football team beat Castletown/Ballyagran in the Shield Football Final in Ballyagran after extra time.    Well done to the U.14 Footballers.
On Thursday 9th August the U.16 Footballers are out againt Cappagh in
Knockainey at 7.30 p.m.
The Senior Hurlers had a good win over Athlacca in the South Senior Hurling
Semi Final in Bruff on Monday night.   They meet Kilmallock in the Final but
there is no date fixed as yet.
Congratulations to Paudie Hehir and Thomas Hartnett who were winners in the
July draw of the Limerick Development Draw.

The U.21st are out in round 2 of the County Champsionship against Glenroe on
Thursday 26th at 7.30 p.m.   The match is fixed to be played in Knockainey but due to the heavy forecast of rain the pitch will not be playable, venue to be confirmed.
The Minor Hurling team had a good win in the South Championship beating
Garryspillane by 2 points.   This was a very exciting game and well done to
all.
The U.16 Hurling Team beat Monegea with a score of 3-9 to 3-7 in the U.16
Hurling County Champship.
The Knockainey Senior and Juvenile Clubs would like to sent best wishes to
Limerick on Sunday in the All Ireland Quarter Final against Clare.

The U.16 Football team were out against Crecora in the U.16 Co. League Hurling last Wednesday and won by a handsome margin.   They are one match away from the County Semi Final, so best of luck on getting to the final. The U.14 Football Shield Final is fixed for Sunday 22nd July at 12.30 p.m. in Knockainey playing Castletown/Ballyagran.    Please note that this match maybe rescheduled.
Due to the inclement weather conditions the Club is having difficulty in
fulfilling fixtures so all matches arranged to be played this week have been
postponed as the pitch is unplayable.
The Cùl Camp is taking place this week and there are 64 children attending.

The U.16 Football team beat Patrickswell by a point with a score of 2-9 to
3-5 in the County Champsionship.   The U.14 team were beaten by Glenroe in
the South U.14 Hurling Shield Final.
The Junior Hurling Team were beaten by the Stakers in the Junior A
Championship.
Friday 13th July U.14 Football Shield final against Castletown/Ballyagran in
Athlacca at 7.30 p.m., subject to change.
Monday 16th July the U.9 Hurling team have a challenge match against
Kilteely in Knockainey at 7.00 p.m.
Wednesday 18th July U.16 Hurling against Monegea in Knockainey at 7.30 p.m.
Please note that the Summer Hurling Camp starts next Monday the 16th July to
20th July at the field in Knockainey.    All participants be at the field at
10.00 a.m. on Monday next.
Sunday 15th July the South Senior Hurling Champsionship Quarter Final
against Glenroe to be played in Bruff at 6.00 p.m.

Well done to our U.21 Hurling team who won the first round of the South
Hurling Champsionship by beating Athlacca in a hard fought match on Sunday
last in Bruff, with a scoreline of 11 points to 10 points.

On Thursday the 5th July our Junior Footballers are playing in the County
Football Final in Newcastle West against Mountcollins at 7.30 p.m.   Your
support would be greatly appreciated.
Saturday 7th July sees the start of the South Junior A Hurling Champsionship
with Knockainey playing The Stakers in Hospital at 7.30 p.m.
Monday 9th July our Minor Footballers are out against Hospital in Knockainey
at 7.30 p.m.   They are out again on the 12th playing Blackrock in Kilfinane
at 7.30 p.m.

Juvenile Results - U.14 Footballers lost to Coshla Gaels in the South
Football Championship.   U.10 Footballer won against Castletown/Ballyagran
in the U.10 South Football Final with a score of 4-0 to 1-0.   Well to the
the U.10s and their mentors.
U.14 Football against Croom in Croom at 7.00 p.m. on Friday 22nd June.
Please have all forms for the Summer Cùl Camp back to a member of the
Juvenile Committe as soon as possible.
Results of the last Silver Circle Draw - James Moloney, John Chick, Mary
O'Brien, Aoife Barron, Pat Harte and Michael Liston.   The Juvenile Club would like to thank everybody who took part in the draw, it has been a great success.
The Senior Hurlers match against Claughan in Knockainey at 7.45 p.m. will
now take place on Wednesday 27th June.
The Senior and Juvenile Clubs would like to extend their deepest sympathy to
John Riordan and his family on the death of John's father Barry, may he rest
in peace.

Our U.14 Footballers beat Castletown/Ballyagran.   U.14 hurlers lost to
Glenroe 6 - 1 to 0-9.   U.12 Hurlers were beaten by Hospital in the Shield
Hurling Final.   Well done to the U.10 Footballers who had good wins over
Galtee Gaels and Kilmallock.
Fixtures - U.14 Football on Friday 15th June playing Coshla Geals in Effin
at 7.00 p.m.
U.10 Football Final on Sunday 17th June playing Castletown/Ballyagran in
Hospital @ 6.30 p.m.
All applications for Knockainey GAA Cùl Camp must be back to a Committee
member by Friday 22nd June.
Final Silver Circle draw takes place on Sunday 17th after 11.00 a.m. Mass.  
 Thanks to all who have supported the draw.   This draw creates much needed
funds for the Juvenile Club.
Our Senior Hurlers are playing their second last League match on Tuesday
19th June against Claughan in Knockainey at 7.45 p.m.  This is the last
match at home and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Winners in the Silver Circle Draw last Sunday - Anthony Barron, Kathleenn

Buckley and Michael Cleary - well done to all.   The last draw for the Silver Circle will take place on Sunday 17th June due to a very busy weekend in GAA.
Juvenile Results - Well done to the U.10 Hurling team who won the South U.10
Hurling Final beating Coshla Gaels with a score of 3-0 to 0-0.   U.14 Hurling team were beaten by Coshla Gaels.

Our Senior Hurling Team are out in the first round the County Champsionship on Friday 18th May against Claughan in Kilmallock at 7.30 p.m.   Best of luck to all concerned.

Results for our Juvenile’s – U.16 County Football Knockainey 3-7 Monegea 4-5.   South U.16 Football Semi Final beaten by Ballylanders.   South U.12 Hurling beaten by Hospital/Herbertstown. South U.12 Hurling Knockainey 2-0 Castletown/Ballyagran 0-8.  South U.10 Hurling lost to Kilmallock and Hospital.  

Fixtures for the coming week – Thursday 17th May U.10 Hurling against Athlacca in Athlacca at 6.45 p.m.    Monday 21s May South U.14 Hurling against Athlacce in Knockainey at 7.00 p.m.   Tuesday 22nd May U.10 Football against Galbally in Knockainey at 6.45 p.m.

In the U.15 South Hurling Knockainey had a good win over Athlacca with a score-line of 3 -13 to 1.6.   U.11 Ground Hurling Final Croom overcame Knockainey with a score of Croom 2-0 Knockainey 0-0.   On Saturday morning our U.10 team were out against Croom with Croom winning with a score of 3-2 to 0-2.
